The golden child of the Chicago Cubs –Kerry Wood– reportedly plans to retire after “one last outing.” That outing might be today, it might be tomorrow, it might be in a year. OK, it most likely will be today or tomorrow, but the moral is he wants one last chance to take the mound and soak in the last drops of his more than 13-year career.
