Manager Lou Piniella rejoined the Cubs on Tuesday, and there were some new faces on the roster. Piniella didn't get a chance to say goodbye to Ted Lilly and Ryan Theriot, who were traded after Piniella left the team Saturday.

The recent trade that sent Ted Lilly to the LA Dodgers is a win for LA and a loss for the Cubs, though the move of Lilly certainly wasn’t unexpected. In the trade, which also sent Ryan Theriot to the Dodgers, the Cubs received second baseman Blake DeWitt and two low-level minor leaguers.

In Lilly, the Dodgers add a veteran arm that will fit nicely into the middle of their rotation behind Clayton Kershaw and Chad Billingsley
