Matt Garza's April Warrants a Long-Term Deal:…

Chicago Cubs ace Matt Garza is quickly becoming my favorite pitcher in the game today. After a winter full of trade rumors and talk of compensation for Theo Epstein, Garza has shown why he is so valuable to this team. On April 29, Garza capped off a month that reinforces my plea for Chicago's general manager Jed Hoyer to sign Garza for the next three to five years. He threw seven shutout innings …

That’s all for today.

Do Cubs' Walk-Off Wins Give Fans Hope?…

After seeing the Chicago Cubs struggle through most of April, I thoroughly enjoyed watching them come from behind in the ninth inning to win for two consecutive nights. I found it even more satisfying to see the wins happen against the Cubs' biggest rival, the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Chicago Cubs finally came through in a one-run game, beating the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2 on a walk-off base hit by Joe Mather on Monday, April 23. Maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm pretty confident when I say that the 2012 Chicago Cubs will never have to worry about accusations of steroid usage amongst the players on their roster. What I'm starting to wonder is whether Sammy Sosa will be recognized for hitting more home runs in one season than this entire 2012 roster.

Chicago Cubs Fan's Opinion: Thank You Marlon…

While departing Chicago with a .070 batting average is not the way Marlon Byrd, or any of us, wanted his Chicago Cubs career to end, I have nothing but exemplary things to say about the man that played hard for the Cubs for two-plus seasons. If more players played with the enthusiasm, the toughness, and the attitude that Byrd does, Major League Baseball would be a lot better of a place.
