The Chicago Cubs have improved since Marlon Byrd was traded to the Boston Red Sox and Tony Campana was promoted as the starting centerfielder. Following a 3-11 start, the Cubs went 5-3 from April 21 through April 29. That stretch also included their first series victory of 2012 as they won two of three games against the St. Louis Cardinals from April 23 through April 25.
